The economic accounts at Paris Saint-Germain do not add up and do not balance. The French team of Kylian Mbappe, Leo Messi and Neymar has more money going out than coming in, which is a major problem in its cash flow.

Ligue 1’s body in charge of controlling the accounts of professional soccer clubs in the country has drawn up the report for last season, the one that ran from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

As for PSG, the data show that in the 2021/22 season it had a deficit of 368 million euros. According to the DNCG, the aforementioned body, the Parisian team spent 729 million euros on staff remuneration, i.e. salaries. A good part of that money went to the contracts of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Messi, who joined the team in the summer of 2021.

In addition, PSG spent just over 180m euros on transfers that season. According to the DNCG, 147.3 were for footballers’ transfers and 39.4 for agents’ and intermediaries’ fees.

In terms of revenue, the Parisian team generated 669.6 million. Broken down by item, 139m were from audiovisual rights, 377m from sponsors and advertising, 57m from match revenue and 96m from other sources.
