Serie A side Milan are reportedly interested in securing the services of Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer and have received a financial boost to optimistically pursue the player.
According to a report from Daniele Longo, Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have identified a potential opportunity in Chelsea’s upcoming reduction of their bloated squad in the summer transfer window.
The Rossoneri will aim to strengthen their team without spending much and that is why the option of midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been impressive.
Though the Italian side are in an inadequate financial capacity, the possibility of the Loftus-Cheek operation seems to be positive as Milan are set to receive an incidental economic boost.
Following the bankruptcy and the subsequent relegation of Serie A outfits Monza to Serie D back in 2015, the Rossoneri secured one of their promising homegrown talents Mateo Pessina for free. He was loaned out a couple of times and was permanently transferred to Atalanta in 2017. However, the current league title holders inserted a resale percentage value on him during the sale. It is rumoured to be around 30 to 50 per cent of the value and now after a sumptuous loan season with his childhood club Monza, Pessina will become a permanent player within their ranks.
The Lombardy-based side will pay a sum of €15 million to La Dea and an amount of around €3.5 million to €7.5 million is expected to be transferred to the Rossoneri coffers.
This financial boost will be used in the Loftus-Cheek mission as Chelsea look to offload some of their fringe players in order to comply with the FFP rules.
