Allegri: ‘Season over for De Sciglio, Vlahovic scored a wonderful goal’

Max Allegri confirmed that the season is over for Mattia De Sciglio and praised Dusan Vlahovic for scoring a ‘wonderful goal’. The Bianconeri boss was speaking with the press after his teams 2-1 win over Lecce, a victory which included a debut goal from on-loan midfielder Leandro Paredes. Talking through the match in his post-match presser, (as quoted by TuttoJuve), Allegri reflected on a hard-fought win and also had some words of advice for Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis ahead of their impending Scudetto win:

How important is Vlahovic’s goal? How is De Sciglio doing?

“De Sciglio unfortunately suffered an ACL injury, the season is over for him and we are sorry to lose him, but we are waiting for him. Vlahovic scored a wonderful goal and finished the game on the up, especially in finding spaces. It was normal that a player who until now had never had periods without scoring goals could experience it, in these moments you need balance. When he arrived from Fiorentina everything was nice and good, but in football it is not always like that. It’s normal, he is at his first experience in an important club like Juventus.”

To create more is it possible to see Di Maria play wider?

“Between today and Sunday he created a lot, but we often missed the last pass, the important thing is to create, then the goal is found. We were unlucky on Danilo’s header off the post. We had the 2-0 goal with Miretti, which was cancelled due to a matter of centimeters.”

Did you think you would suffer less? A judgment on Pogba and Chiesa?

“In football you have to suffer. Pogba entered the game well, unfortunately we never had him this season and he can only grow. If he enters the pitch and plays 30 minutes like tonight it is a good signal for us, we have a game every three days. Chiesa came in, he worked hard, he had an important opportunity in the open field.”

Are you anticipating a different Juventus with all the players fit?

“I’m savoring today’s win. Paredes had a good game and is settling into the role. Bonucci had a great game saving two goals, one on a loose ball and the other on a slide tackle.”

A comment on De Laurentiis’ words about the honesty shield?

“I don’t have anything to say about that, I can only congratulate them on a Scudetto that they over-deserved. I can only tell him to enjoy this Scudetto, since it is his first. I advise him, even though he is a president who takes little advice, to enjoy it as I will never forget the first ones at Milan and Juve. Being his first, I think he should enjoy it in everything. Celebrate, which is the best thing.”

What do you think of the possible new management asset?

“As far as the management structure is concerned, we have to be focused on the matches of these 31 days until June 4, we are a working group that in difficulties has defended itself by keeping all the goals open. This is also thanks to Cherubini who has been by my side during this period. Then what the club will decide based on who will be the new sporting director is not up to me, I am the coach and the club at the end of the season will tell me what it has decided.”
