Following yesterday’s protests, which notably ended with a group of individuals going to Neymar’s house, Paris Saint-Germain have decided to increase security around the club’s training ground and in front of certain players’ homes, report AFP.
Wednesday’s events saw a large group gather in front of the club’s headquarters, ostensibly spurred on by the controversy surrounding Lionel Messi’s two-week suspension, and shout insults aimed at manager Christophe Galtier as well as Marco Verratti, Neymar, and the Argentine forward.
A group of around a hundred then made for the Brazilian’s house in the western suburbs, to express their desire for him to leave the club. The former Barcelona man, who is currently recovering from ankle ligament surgery, confirmed that certain fans had come to his house. After releasing a statement condemning yesterday’s excesses, and in the face of threats of further protests, PSG will now heighten security around its Camp des Loges training ground and the homes of the players who were targeted.
