Oliver Glasner and Eintracht Frankfurt to separate

Bild reports that Oliver Glasner and Eintracht Frankfurt will part ways with a meeting to be held over the coming days on whether it will be immediately or at the end of the season.

In recent weeks, the relationship between Glasner and Frankfurt has deteriorated with the manager criticising the lack of quality at his disposal to achieve the goals set at the start of the season, which was to qualify for Europe through the league. Everything came to a head at the weekend when Glasner was sent off against Hoffenheim before having an outburst during the post-game press conference.

There is strong support within the club to have Glasner in charge until after the DFB Pokal final against RB Leipzig on 3rd June. This is due to the fact that the 48-year-old remains popular and his efforts in winning the Europa League last season merit the chance of him leaving the club having won two major trophies.

Frankfurt are already looking at potential successors for Glasner with Julian Nagelsmann’s assistant Dino Toppmöller a strong candidate to take over.

After a strong start to the season, Frankfurt have not won in the league since February 18th when they beat Werder Bremen 2-0.
