According to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna José Mourinho would like to bring Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat (26) to Paris Saint-Germain if he was to become the next coach of the club.
Mourinho has reportedly already held talks with Amrabat’s agent, seeing the Fiorentina midfielder as a key addition to PSG’s midfield.
However, Barcelona has also shown interest in the Moroccan international and have initiated negotiations. While Amrabat’s priority is to join Barcelona, the Catalan club’s focus on other transfer dealings, particularly with Lionel Messi, has hindered progress.
PSG, having monitored Amrabat for several months, are keen on securing the services of the 2023 World Cup semi-finalist.
Barcelona have reportedly offered under the €40m demanded by Fiorentina, where the midfielder has played 42 matches in all competitions this season.
José Mourinho has reportedly been in contact with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi over becoming the next manager of Les Parisiens, discussing his ideas to put the club back on track as well as the profile of players he wants to see at the club.
