Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has received a vote of confidence from his brother Pippo Inzaghi, ahead of the huge Champions League semi-final involving Simone’s Inter and Pippo’s former club Milan.
Pippo was vital for Milan in various Champions League crusades and has become one of the most iconic players in Rossoneri history for that. His brother Simone though, will be managing a Champions League semi-final for the first time in his career and while he never had a glittering playing career, he is proving himself as a manager.
Pippo recently had huge praise for his brother’s progress and in an interview with TMW, he hailed him as one of the best managers in Europe right now.
“I wish him good luck. For me, he has proved to be one of the best coaches in Europe and I will also tell him to enjoy this magical moment because he deserved it with his hard work.”
This is the farthest that Inzaghi has reached in a European competition in his career so far, with his time at Lazio ending with him having never managed beyond the quarter-finals of the Europa League once. He took the Biancocelesti to the Round of 16 of Champions League three seasons ago, but tonight will be a big night for him.
