Despite strong links with the managerial role at Paris Saint-Germain, Roma manager José Mourinho has denied contact over the role.
RMC Sport and Foot Mercato have both linked Mourinho with an arrival at the Parc des Princes this summer. Christophe Galtier is expected to leave PSG at the end of the season, but only if the right candidate can be brought in to replace him.
RMC have reported that talks between the club’s Sporting Consultant and Luís Campos are advanced, whilst Foot Mercato reported earlier on Wednesday that Mourinho, as well as Thiago Motta, were the leading candidates to take the managerial hot seat at the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
Whilst the former Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur manager continues to be linked with a move to Paris, Mourinho has denied the rumours to Sky Italia. “If they (PSG) called, they didn’t reach me,” he said in an interview transcribed by L’Équipe.
Mourinho’s contract with Roma, with whom he won last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League, runs until 2024.
