Directors of the PSG Academy, Luca Cattani and Yohan Cabaye, this week welcomed Serie A side Torino’s head of recruitment and Academy director at the Camp des Loges, the club’s training ground, to scout young players from the Parisian outfit, according to a report from L’Equipe. The Torino executives were accompanied by Italian player agent Gianluca Libertazzi. The outlet report that a midfielder from the U19 side was one of the players being scouted.
The PSG executives had invited their Italian counterparts under the guise of helping their fringe academy players kickstart their career. Should these players earn a professional contract abroad, PSG would receive a €270k training compensation fee per player. A windfall PSG would miss out on if their academy players were to head into amateur football next. L’Équipe report that other clubs, such as Stade Brestois, were invited to take a look at what the PSG Academy have in their ranks as well.
