Football FanCast brings you the latest Everton transfer news and rumours as Sean Dyche looks to build for next season.
Kent wanted at Goodison Park
TEAMtalk: It has been reported that Ryan Kent has been in talks with the Toffees as he shapes up to leave Rangers on a free this summer.
The Ibrox star will see his contract expire at the end of the season and is, of course, familiar with Merseyside having played for Liverpool as a youngster.
And while Everton might be keen on signing Kent, they will face competition from Premier League rivals Leeds United and Bournemouth, as well as newly-promoted duo Burnley and Sheffield United.
On top of that, the report claims he’s been offered a “lucrative contract” by Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.
Holgate urged to leave
GIVEMESPORT: Journalist Paul Brown has claimed defender Mason Holgate will have to leave this summer if he wants to get regular game time next season.
Despite his club’s troubles on the pitch, the 26-year-old has featured just seven times in the Premier League this term and clearly hasn’t been able to convince either Frank Lampard or Dyche of his quality.
With that in mind, it could be time to leave Goodison Park at the end of the campaign, regardless of whether or not his side avoids the drop.
Explaining as much, Brown said: “I don’t see a long-term future for him at Everton as either a centre-back or a full-back.
“If he wants to be playing somewhere every week, it might be time for him to move on.
Maupay to stick around
GIVEMESPORT: Journalist Brown has once more been dropping some harsh truths on what might be going on at Everton in the summer.
This time, however, it looks as though one man will be set to stay despite his struggles, with Neal Maupay not expected to leave Goodison Park any time soon.
In what has been a dreadful debut campaign with the club, the French striker has netted just one goal in 28 appearances across all competitions.
With that in mind, fans might want him gone but Brown thinks Maupay is here to stay.
He said: “I think Maupay won’t be going anywhere. This season has been a bit of a disaster for both him and the club. At times I felt a bit sorry for him because Everton don’t really play in the kind of way that suits him.
“He’s not someone you can just stick up front on his own and expect to do very much. He needs people around him to play one-two’s off and feed off of other people.”
