L’Équipe report that discussions will commence over the contract extension of Brest manager Éric Roy, following confirmation of the side’s Ligue 1 status last Sunday.
Roy, a former Sunderland and Nice midfielder, has previously expressed his desire to remain at the helm of Les Pirates and guide them into the future.
Speaking to Le Télégramme, Roy affirmed his commitment to coaching and his interest in continuing his tenure with Stade Brestois. He stated, “I want to continue to coach, so why not here?”
Roy, 55, took charge of Stade Brestois on January 3 with the sole objective of avoiding relegation. Having been away from the managerial role for over a decade, he embraced the challenge and successfully steered the club to safety. Now, with the team’s survival secured, Roy naturally desires to lead the squad going forward , as discussions begin over his future.
