Roma legend Francesco Totti hopes that coach Jose Mourinho remains at the club after the Europa League final. The Special One is being linked with a number of roles around Europe, most recently the soon-to-be vacant managers role at Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking with Il Corriere dello Sport, Totti offered his backing to Mourinho, saying he hopes that the Portuguese tactician will remain in charge beyond the upcoming Europa League final against Sevilla:
“As a Romanista I hope that Roma can win. It’s a one-off game, anything can happen but I hope Mourinho can win his second consecutive trophy.”
“Dybala? I hope he can reach the final in good condition, because Roma needs him to try to win their second European trophy.”
“He deserves to play this game. I know he will do anything to be there, at least from the bench.”
“Mourinho’s future? This is football, anything can happen. It is a decision that is up to him, a decision that he and the club will have already made and will communicate at the end of the Europa League. I don’t know what the coach has decided on, but I hope he can stay at Roma.”
“The Friedkin’s silence? I cannot discuss in detail the dynamics of the club, if they have taken this path of silence I think it is their right and must be respected.”
“Since I arrived they have been consistently silent. There are those who talked too much and those who talk less.”
