Burnley have this evening announced the signing of French youth international midfielder Han-Noah Massengo on a free transfer, with the 22-year-old putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with the newly-promoted Premier League club.
The former Bristol City midfielder – his contract expired at the end of last season – had been the subject of interest from the Clarets for most of the summer, and had reportedly rejected an earlier proposal.
His former club Monaco were also said to be a potential destination, in the wake of a promising loan spell at Auxerre, but Massengo has ultimately opted to continue playing on the other side of the Channel.
Last season, he impressed during his six-month stay with Auxerre, making 14 appearances in Ligue 1, but was unable to prevent the club from going down, as they were leapfrogged by Nantes on the final day. Massengo had previously made 110 appearances in all competitions for Bristol City, having left formative club Monaco in 2019.
