Paris Saint-Germain have officially authorised Lee Kang-in (22) to participate in the Asian Games for South Korea, the country’s football association have confirmed. The PSG attacking midfielder will team up with his international teammates to participate in the tournament on the 20th of September.
Lee is a relatively new arrival at the Parc des Princes, having completed a summer move from Mallorca for €22m. The 22-year-old wasn’t called up to South Korea duties during the international break due to injury. He has been sidelined with a quad injury.
The Asian Games start for Korea on the 19th against Kuwait in China. This means that Lee will miss his country’s first game of the competition. The second game of the competition will take place on the 21st against Thailand which makes the South Korean international a doubt for that fixture. If the attacking midfielder was to be victorious at the Asian Games with South Korea and win gold, he would be exempt from mandatory military conscription.
