Paris Saint-Germain will pay tribute to departing midfielder Marco Verratti (30) tonight at the Parc des Princes prior Les Parisiens’ Ligue 1 game against INEOS-owned OGC Nice, the club has announced.
Verratti put an end to a trophy-laden eleven years in the French capital by joining Qatar Stars League side Al-Arabi. The press-resistant midfielder is the second-most-capped PSG player in history, playing 416 games with PSG since his arrival from formative club Pescara in 2012 and clinching a country-record nine Ligue 1 titles in the process.

With his influence dwindling these past years, it was not a surprise when Verratti was told by PSG head coach Luis Enrique and Sporting advisor Luis Campos before the start of the season that he would be surplus to requirements.
The Ligue 1 champions have confirmed that a pre-game ceremony will be held tonight from 8pm CET to honor Verratti’s achievements in the French capital. “It’s the opportunity for all the fans to say goodbye“, Luis Enrique said in his pre-game press conference. “He was a very important player for the last decade.“
