Serie A league leaders Inter are keen on signing Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski and are looking to beat competition from Juventus.
Zielinski’s contract at Napoli runs out in the summer of 2024 and La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Andrea Ramazzotti has reported that talks have failed recently. It seems more likely that the Pole will leave the club in the summer on a free transfer.
Inter want another senior player in midfield, despite the fact that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will sign a new deal soon. Zielinski is considered to be a key option for that role, but Juventus have already spoken to the midfielder’s entourage and have let it become clear that they are interested in the player. Bianconeri sporting director Cristiano Guintoli could look to exploit the good relationship he has with Zielinski’s entourage.
Inter have also made contact and have understood that the 29-year-old would be tempted by the idea of moving to Milan. Zielinski is aware that Simone Inzaghi has a big amount of esteem for him and Inter could hand him the same wage as what he currently earns at Napoli.
