Serie A side Roma are monitoring Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah as they will attempt to sign him this winter.
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are searching for a new defender in the market and have set their sights on Chelsea’s Travoh Chalobah.
The 24-year-old fell out of The Blues’ plans this season and the club have already communicated their decision to sell him. Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund inquired for the player’s services recently but nothing is concrete surrounding his departure till now.
Jose Mourinho has been without his leader Chris Smalling in defence since September when he suffered a tendon injury. The Englishman has been recovering quite slowly as he isn’t taking unnecessary risks due to his age. Smalling turns 34 years old this month and the Portuguese manager knows that he cannot be trusted in every game and there have been rumours surrounding his exit.
Roma need to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules if they sign a player in the next transfer window but they are expected to play the waiting game in the case of Trevoh Chalobah and will pounce close to deadline day.
