Former Spanish international Cesc Fabregas is set to take up the managerial reigns at Serie B outfit Como, according to widespread reports.
For those not aware, ex-midfielder Fabregas has been learning his trade in the dugout with Como’s youth team across the season to date.
This comes after the 36-year-old brought an end to his glittering playing career with the Lombardy-based outfit this past summer.
With less than six months of managerial experience under his belt, though, Fabregas, as alluded to above, is now primed to step into his first senior role.
Como this weekend sent boss Moreno Longo on his way, despite a 1-0 victory over Ascoli. And the Italian is set to be replaced by Fabregas, who will put pen to paper on a likely short-term contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia over the coming days.
Como currently sit 6th in the Serie B table, owing to a record of 21 points secured from 12 games.
