Milan’s Alessandro Florenzi under investigation for illegal gambling

Milan full-back Alessandro Florenzi is now under investigation for potential involvement in the illegal betting scandal in the Serie A.

Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli have already been handed bans for their involvement in illegal betting, with Nicolo Zaniolo have picked up a fine for having played poker and blackjack illegally.

Agency AGI now report that Florenzi is also being investigated  by the Prosecutors for illegal gambling but the Italian’s offence is likely to be closer to what Zaniolo did. The Aston Villa player, during his meeting with the Prosecutors, had stood firm on the stance that he didn’t gamble on football matches and quite the same could be the case for Florenzi.

Florenzi will have a meeting with the Prosecutor at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in the next few days, with the defence likely to be similar to the one that Zaniolo’s lawyers used some weeks ago to make sure that no ban was imposed on the ex-Roma player.
